looks way more impressive than slopestyle snowboarding. They go off of jumps backwards. BACKWARDS. That is all.

Snowboarders go "backwards" as well...

It's just "backwards" on a snowboard means the foot that's normally in the back is now in the front.

Not only that, but they fly backwards. And land backwards.

How does one practice that? One day do they just say, "Fuck it lets see what happens"

Goofyfooted =/= completely backwards.

And they run the risk of nutting the shit out of themselves on a rail since their feet aren't on the same board. Like rollerbladers.

I read that this is one of the first years that there hasn't been a growth in snowboard sales. Why are kids today not buying snowboards?

There are two theories.

1. Slopestyle and double-sided skis

2. Their parents are snowboarders.

You're right, going backwards is much better than going off backwards. I've done both and I'm much more comfortable going blind than goofy. Backwards I just cant see, goofy I'm off my natural balance and it feels well, goofy. This is also the most I've used the term "goofy" in the last 3 years.

my father was the one who got me into snowboarding, but that was over 10 years ago.

D'oh. Before I get mad, arguing which sport is harder is like arguing what is the best car.
Snowboarders go backwards as another commenter mentioned. It's called switch and it is unnatural. It is unnatural like I assume skiing backwards is.

Technically snowboarders go backwards too, it's just called "switch"

I like the 2nd theory.

I think skiing backwards is just as unnatural and off-balance as boarding switchfoot.

Except for the fact that you can't see.

Right which is what I was saying. I think both are equally difficult. Skiers do have the ability to look backwards by the way. It's not like they just go blind everywhere. I'm not taking anything away from them either way just saying

Goofy is not always backwards by the way. If you are regular footed it would be. If you were goofy footed, regular footed would be riding backwards.

In my oppinion skiing switched is less difficult than boarding switched but, I did begin skiing so there's that.
